This NIU credit course includes an interactive multimedia simulation or game developed in Macromedia Flash. This simulation takes the student through the process of electing a pope. Choosing one out of four characters, the student follows the path of a parish priest in his journey to reach the upper levels of the papal elite. In "Conclave: Electing the Pope" the student receives an insider view on the inner workings of the Catholic church's political structure that has remained relatively unchanged since its conception up to present day.
