Are library collections and resources available online and accessible off-campus?
The University Libraries include seven on and off-campus branches and contains more than two million volumes as well as periodicals, government publications, microforms, maps, recordings, audiovisual materials, and electronic databases. Most are easily referenced electronically with “Ask-A-Librarian”. This online service provides a knowledgeable librarian (a real person) who will answer your questions using either e-mail or chat services in real time.
Students may also take advantage of the interlibrary loan and Illinet Online systems, which make the libraries of more than 46 partnering institutions available to NIU students, faculty, and staff--no matter where they are—for free! Please visit NIU Libraries for more information. |
